AFROJACK N.7 IN THE WORLD LANDS ON IBIZA BPM RADIO
Ibiza BPM Radio starts the year with new proposals receiving artists of the highest level of the international electronic music scene.
We welcome Afrojack, Grammy award winning producer and dj, considered one of the most innovative and sought after artists, who continues to break boundaries and push music in bold new directions. Afrojack will be on every Friday at 00.00 h with his weekly show Jacked Radio.
In less than two years, Afrojack has become one of the biggest icons in electronic dance music. From humble beginnings as a DJ in his native Holland, he has grown into a multi-award winning and platinum selling producer.
Since rising to fame with the multi-platinum selling single “Take Over Control”, the musician has lent his producing skills to genre-transgressing tracks that lay the groundwork for huge hits for artists such as Beyoncé, Pitbull, Will.i.am and many more.
In recent years, Afrojack has been named one of the 50 most important people in electronic music by Rolling Stone, made Forbes' 30 Musicians Under 30 list, received a label named after him in the Netherlands, became the second DJ to place his hands on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and performed at the intermission of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 grand final. He was able to create a show that was hard to match. Together with Dutch talents Glennis Grace and Wulf, and accompanied by a youth classical orchestra, Afrojack is the first DJ in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest to perform at the intermission of the Grand Final.
More than 200 million households in 41 countries watched Afrojack's performance at Rotterdam's iconic Erasmusbrug, and took him inside the venue for an epic finale to his performance.
In 2010, he was one of the first DJs to land a residency in Las Vegas and, twelve years later, he continues to entertain audiences around the world as a headliner on The Strip.
In 2021, Afrojack added the worldwide hit “HERO,” a collaboration with David Guetta, to his already impressive repertoire. The song, co - written by Ellie Goulding, Stargate, Ryan Tedder and Jamie Scott, became another #1 on the US dance radio chart and has reached 50 million streams to date. Recently, 'HERO' was nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category.
Also in the same year Afrojack founded Never Sleeps. It is a concept created for the dancefloor: no ties to any genre, no definitions or politics: it's all about the music. The platform, which is a music and events label, is open to all artists who want to participate, regardless of their background, style and experience.
Unlike current music labels and events, this revamped platform allows the coexistence of EDM, techno and, for example, progressive house. Afrojack continuously travels the world performing as a headliner and at the biggest clubs and festivals, while producing new music on his label Wall Recording.
