Lika Shkhvatsabaia is crowned at the Cibeles Palace in Madrid

Lika Shkhvatsabaia (Tbilisi, Georgia, 1980), daughter of a famous Georgian sculptor who studied Fine Arts in her country and has been living in Spain for 10 years, was the artist chosen to be part of the Love Connection D' Ibiza event in its first edition in Egypt.

The event that fuses Fashion, Music, Art and Gastronomy was presented by Unique Club and supported by our radio station in the emblematic and spectacular Palacio Cibeles in Madrid.

Lika, who stayed for some time in New York and who has exhibited her work in countries such as Spain, USA, Italy, Russia, Georgia, Portugal, Greece... to name a few, welcomed us with sympathy, showing her art to all attendees.

How does the artist define her painting?

She tells us that in general her work belongs to abstract expressionism although it also has a lot of color and belongs to figurative art.

She works individually, she has been linked to painting all her life because she grew up in that environment. Her father is a world-renowned sculptor and painter and she had the good fortune to grow up among artists in Georgia, her native country.

The main purpose of painting is to express her feelings in color, and her ways of constructing or composing are linked to abstraction, physicality, strength and matter, Lika tells us.

The predominance and intensity that she carries out with the uses of color, as well as the nuances that these have, allow her to offer her most emotional and intimate side on the canvas.

Where does Lika Shkhvatsabaia get her inspiration from?

In general terms she says : “I get inspiration from life, every moment of the day, from music, from old painters, I get a lot of inspiration in the process of working on the canvas, creating the work, the search for tools that can transform and modify many things in my painting, innovate...”

"On many occasions, the canvases have their origin in themselves and build like an autonomous organism that germinates and spreads through a process of net artistic development, a very intimate process. An idea in its pure state that is transferred into matter from my most creative cerebral side."

She triumphed and knew how to be a magnificent hostess, permeating the evening with her art, her charisma and her personal charm.
